Benefits of Small Group Swim Lessons
At Goggles & Giggles, we believe that small group swimming lessons make a big difference. That’s why we keep our classes small - with no more than four children to a group. Our owner, Tracy Hewitt, has over 20 years of experience teaching children to swim, and she’s passionate about creating an environment where every child can thrive.
“After spending several years in a large leisure company, I realised that big groups often hindered children's learning and confidence. The lack of personalised attention, poor lesson quality, and constant distractions made it clear that change was needed. Swimming lessons are not a luxury – they’re a vital life skill that everyone should have access to. That’s why I wanted to make lessons affordable and create an environment where every child receives the attention they deserve. It's great to see the leisure industry starting to recognise the value of smaller groups, which is exactly why I created Goggles & Giggles to provide focused, supportive, and accessible swimming lessons for all.“

Here’s why small groups matter so much:
More Individual Attention - With fewer children in each class, our teachers can spend more time focusing on each swimmer. This means your child gets the support they require to build their skills quickly and confidently
Stronger Teacher-Swimmer Relationships - Small groups allow our teachers to really get to know each swimmer - their strengths, challenges and personalities. This helps create a fun, trusting environment where children feel safe to try new things.
Faster Progress - More personalised feedback and encouragement means children often progress quicker in smaller groups compared to larger classes. Every swimmer gets the chance to practice more during each lesson.
Increased Confidence - Swimming in a small group can be less overwhelming for young learners. With fewer people around, children often feel more comfortable, which helps them build confidence both in and out of the water.
A Supportive Group Dynamic - Children still get to make friends, learn teamwork, and cheer each other on but without the distractions and pressure of larger classes.
We’re proud to have built a supportive and fun environment here at Goggles & Giggles
